1. Data protection at a glance

General information

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally. Detailed information on data protection can be found in this privacy policy.

Who is responsible for the collection of data on this website?

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. The operator's contact details can be found in the section ‘Information on the controller’ in this privacy policy.

How do we collect your data?

Some of your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter into a form. Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (for example, internet browser, operating system or time of the page request). This data is collected automatically as soon as you access this website.

What do we use your data for?

Some of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors. Other data is used in anonymous form to measure the reach of the website. Where contracts are initiated via the website, the data transmitted is also processed for contract offers or other enquiries.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you may withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. You may contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on data protection.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set any cookies and does not use any tracking tools that follow your behaviour across multiple websites. For this reason, there is no cookie banner.

2. Hosting and delivery

Cloudflare

This website is delivered via Cloudflare. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter ‘Cloudflare’).

When you visit this website, your request is routed via Cloudflare's servers. In doing so, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer, and your browser and operating system. This data is required to deliver the website, to ensure its security and to defend against attacks.

Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the secure, fast and reliable provision of our website.

The transfer of data to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare is certified, and additionally on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission. Further information can be found in Cloudflare's privacy policy: www.cloudflare.com/de-de/privacypolicy.

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum) with Cloudflare. This ensures that Cloudflare processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure reach. This service does not set any cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not create user profiles. Aggregated information is collected, such as pages visited, loading times, country of origin and device type. No attribution to individual persons takes place. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in understanding which content is used and in improving the website.

3. General information and mandatory information

Data protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

Please note that data transmission over the internet (for example, when communicating by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Information on the controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

HIREOS Consulting & Ventures Group FZCO
Building A1, Dubai Digital Park
Dubai Silicon Oasis
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
TRN 104952009900001
Phone: +971 52 392 1329
Email: hello@meryem-erkan.com

The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (for example, names, email addresses or similar).

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for erasure or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be erased unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing your personal data (for example, retention periods under tax or commercial law). In the latter case, erasure will take place once these grounds cease to apply.

Legal bases for data processing

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR, where special categories of data under Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. If your data is required for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data where this is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information on the legal bases relevant in each individual case is provided in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Recipients of personal data

In the course of our business activities, we work with various external bodies. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external bodies. We only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (for example, disclosure of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure of data. When using processors, we only pass on personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement.

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Right to object to the collection of data in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).

If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing. This also applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct marketing (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent that it is technically feasible.

Information, rectification and erasure

Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You may contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You may contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you contest the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • If the processing of your personal data was or is unlawful, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
  • If we no longer need your personal data but you require it for the exercise, defence or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, your interests and ours must be weighed against each other. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may, apart from its storage, only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of the browser begins with ‘https://’ and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

4. Data collection on this website

Enquiries by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where this has been requested. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

The data you send to us will remain with us until you ask us to erase it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (for example, after your request has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular statutory retention periods, remain unaffected.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter (Donnerstagsbrief), we process your email address, your first name and, on a voluntary basis, your surname. We use this data exclusively to send you the newsletter.

Processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time, for example via the unsubscribe link in every email or by sending a message to hello@meryem-erkan.com. Your data will be erased after you unsubscribe.

We use a double opt-in procedure. After submitting the form, you will receive an email in which you confirm your subscription. Only then will you be added to the list. As proof of consent, we store the time of subscription and of confirmation as well as your IP address.

We use MailerLite to manage subscriptions and to send the newsletter. The provider is MailerLite Limited, Ground Floor, 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D02 P593, Ireland. When you submit the form, your details are transferred directly to MailerLite and stored there. MailerLite also analyses whether emails are opened and links are clicked in order to improve delivery. We have concluded a data processing agreement with MailerLite. Where data is transferred to third countries such as the USA, this is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information can be found in MailerLite's privacy policy: www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.

When you make a booking, Calendly processes the details you provide there (for example, name, email address and the appointment selected) so that we can confirm and hold the appointment. 5. Links to other services and YouTube videos

On this website you will find links to our offerings on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Instagram and YouTube. These are simple links. No data is transferred to these services when you visit this website. You only leave our website when you click on a link. The respective provider is responsible for the processing of your data on the linked pages.

YouTube videos (two-click solution)

On some pages, you can watch videos directly on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The video is only loaded from YouTube once you click on the preview image. For this purpose, we use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you click, a connection to YouTube's servers is established and YouTube receives data such as your IP address, the page visited and information about your browser. While the video is playing, YouTube may store and analyse further information on your device. If you are logged in to Google, YouTube may assign the request to your account. Data may also be transferred to the USA in this process; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is your consent given by clicking on the video (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). If you do not click, no data is transferred to YouTube. Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
